足関節骨折は下肢の骨折の中で最も多いものの一つである。手術後、足関節は足関節底屈位で固定されることが多く、足関節可動域が制限される症例が多く報告されている。そこで本研究の目的は、定期的なマッサージ介入が固定除去後の足関節可動域に及ぼす影響を検討することである。

Ankle fractures are one of the most common lower extremity fractures. After surgery, the ankle joint is often immobilized in a plantar flexion position, and there have been many reported cases of limited ankle joint range of motion. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of regular massage interventions on ankle joint range of motion after removal of fixation.

本研究の主要目的は、足関節術後の患者において、ギプス固定中に足関節底屈筋に3分間のマッサージ介入を行うことで、固定除去後の足関節可動域を改善できるかどうかを検討すること。

The primary objective of the present study was to investigate whether 3-minute massage interventions on the plantar flexors during cast fixation in postoperative ankle joint patients could improve ankle joint ROM after fixation removal.

通常の理学療法に加え、理学療法士がギプスまたはシーネの露出している部位の足関節底屈筋に3分間のマッサージを行った。この3分間のマッサージ介入は、1日2回、週5回行った。

In addition to regular physical therapy, the physical therapist administered a 3-minute massage to the plantar flexors at the cast- or splint-exposed areas. These three-minute massage interventions were performed twice a day, five times a week.

足関節骨折を負い、当院に入院し、手術による外科的固定を行った足関節骨折患者

Patients with ankle fractures who suffered an ankle fracture and were admitted to our hospital for surgical fixation
除外基準/Key exclusion criteria
日本語
除外基準は、研究参加に同意しない者、脳卒中による重度の運動麻痺がある者、術後7日未満しか足関節固定を行っていない者とした。

The exclusion criteria were as follows: those who would not provide consent to participating in the study; those who had severe motor paralysis due to stroke; and those who had ankle joint fixation for less than 7 days after surgery.
