本研究はリアルワールドデータ株式会社のデータベースを用いたデータベース研究である。
上記データベースの内、2014年4月以降に糖尿病（ICD-10：E10-E14）の初回確定診断のある患者を対象とする。
初回確定診断の定義：2014年4月以降の最も古い糖尿病の確定診断以前のデータ期間に糖尿病の確定診断がない、かつその糖尿病の確定診断の180日以上前に何らかの医療記録がある。

This study is a database study using the Real World Data, Co., Ltd.'s database.
Of the above database, patients with a first confirmed diagnosis of diabetes (ICD-10: E10-E14) after April 2014 will be included.
Definition of first confirmed diagnosis:
No confirmed diagnosis of diabetes in the data period prior to the earliest confirmed diagnosis of diabetes after April 2014 and some medical record more than 180 days prior to that confirmed diagnosis of diabetes.
