口唇裂・口蓋裂患者における口腔機能を測定し、年齢ごとの標準値を求め、かつ形態との関連性を調べ、その特徴を明らかにすること。

To measure oral function in patients with cleft lip and cleft palate, to obtain standard values for each age group, and to examine the relationship with morphology and to identify its characteristics.

口唇裂・口蓋裂患者の治療法として口唇形成手術や口蓋形成手術、歯科矯正治療が行われ、形態的な回復が図られているが、形態的回復が口腔機能に対してどの程度関係するかなど未解明な部分が多い。
本研究では口唇裂・口蓋裂患者の口腔機能に着目し、形態との関連性を明らかにすることとした。

Cleft lip and palate patients have been treated with cleft lip and palate surgery, palatoplasty, and orthodontic treatment to restore their morphology, but the extent to which this restoration of morphology is related to oral function remains unclear.
In this study, we focused on the oral functions of cleft lip and cleft palate patients and clarified the relationship between these functions and morphology.

:Among patients attending Tohoku University Hospital Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Functional Treatment, men and women aged 5 years and under 13 with cleft lip, cleft lip and jaw, cleft lip and palate, or cleft palate or above.
