歯周ポケットを有する患者を対象として、スケーリング・ルートプレーニング前に歯周ポケット内に表面麻酔ジェルを注入塗布した場合の痛みに対する効果を、浸潤麻酔をした場合と比較する。

選択基準/Key inclusion criteria

上下顎左右側4ブロックのいずれか2ブロック以上に5～9 mmの歯周ポケットを有する歯周基本治療中あるいはSupportive Periodontal Therapy中の患者

Patients undergoing Basic Periodontal Therapy or Supportive Periodontal Therapy with periodontal pockets of 5 to 9 mm in at least two of the four blocks on the left and right sides of the upper and lower jaws.

VASの中央値は、ゲル麻酔が20であり、浸潤麻酔の5よりも有意に高かった（p=0.002）。VRSの最頻値は、ゲル麻酔が1に対して浸潤麻酔が0であり、有意差を認めた（p=0.006）。

The median VAS score was 20 for gel anesthesia, significantly higher than 5 for infiltration anesthesia (p = 0.002). The VRS mode was 1 for gel anesthesia compared to 0 for infiltration anesthesia, also a significant difference (p = 0.006).
