通常臨床に於ける当科での治療成績などを集計解析するために患者記録のデータベース化を行い、その解析から日常診療の向上を目指す。

通常臨床に於ける患者さんのデータを過去のカルテ記録より抜粋してデータベース化する。データベース作成に当たっては、各疾患の担当者を設定し、患者名は匿名化(単体で個人識別可能な記述を全て削除し、個人と無関係な符号又は番号を付し、その符号又は番号と当該個人との対応表を作成)する。過去30 年間はレトロスペクティブに解析し、今後20年間はプロスペクテイプも臨床データで集積する。
