日本語
現代日本人の甲状腺疾患におけるTEDの有病率・重症度を横断的に評価するとともに、眼球突出に影響する可能性のある強度近視、ステロイド使用、喫煙の有無に関して眼球突出度との関連を明らかにする。また甲状腺疾患を有さない群（健常者を含む）において眼球突出度を計測し、現代日本人における正常値を導き出すとともに、TED悪化の3因子が健常者の眼球突出度に与える影響も明らかにする。

We evaluate the differences in the severity of exophthalmos in Japanese patients with autoimmune thyroid disease depend on whether a patient has a severe myopia,or histories of somoking and/or steroid use. We also evaluate exophthalmos in Japanese people without autoimmune thyroid disease to determine the normal range of exophthalmos in Japanese people.

選択基準/Key inclusion criteria

下記1），2）の症例群において、以下の基準を全て満たす者を対象とする。
1）．自己免疫性甲状腺疾患患者群
① 対象疾患：当科に通院または入院中の患者で、バセドウ病、橋本病と現在までに診断されている者、もしくは過去に診断され現在は寛解している者。
② 年齢：同意取得時において12歳以上
③ 性別：不問
④ 治療状況：不問
⑤ 本研究への参加にあたり十分な説明を受けた後、十分な理解の上、研究対象者本人の自由意思による文書同意が得られた患者。未成年者においては代諾者等からのインフォームド・コンセントも必須とする。

2）．コントロール群
① 当科に通院または入院中の患者で、バセドウ病、橋本病と診断されていない者。また、健常人ボランティアも募る。健常人ボランティアのリクルートは長崎大学内において掲示された広告（添付資料3）によって募り、内分泌代謝内科外来にて眼球突出度検査・アンケートを行う。
② 年齢：同意取得時において12歳以上
③ 性別：不問
④ 合併症の有無：眼窩腫瘍、IgG4関連疾患など眼球突出をきたし得る疾患を除き、不問。
⑤ 本研究への参加にあたり十分な説明を受けた後、十分な理解の上、研究対象者本人の自由意思による文書同意が得られた患者。未成年者においては代諾者等からのインフォームド・コンセントも必須とする。

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

日本語
① 眼窩腫瘍、IgG4関連疾患などTED以外に眼球突出をきたし得る疾患を有する者。
② レーシックを含む全ての侵襲的眼球手術を受けた者。
③ 外国人、または両親のいずれかが外国人であった者。
④ その他、研究者等が研究対象者として不適切と判断した患者。
