本研究ではペパーミント精油を用いたアロマセラピーと経穴（PC6）への指圧の両方を評価した。ペパーミント精油を用いたアロマセラピーの結果は既に公表されている(doi: 10.1186/s12906-024-04334-3)。経穴（PC6）への指圧の結果は別途報告される。

This study evaluated both aromatherapy with peppermint essential oil and acupressure on pericardium 6. Results for aromatherapy with peppermint essential oil have been published previously. Results for acupressure on pericardium 6 are reported separately.

参加者背景/Baseline Characteristics

本研究への参加に同意した健康な日本人成人24名（女性12名、男性12名；平均年齢34.3±9.5歳）を選定した。参加者の適格基準は以下の通りである：(1) 20～50歳の成人、(2) 過去の歯科治療歴があること、(3) 重篤な既往歴がないこと。以下の条件に該当する参加者は除外した：(1)精神疾患、身体疾患、口腔疾患を有する者、(2)義歯装着者、(3)耳管閉塞、鼻閉塞、気胸、腸閉塞の既往歴がある者、(4)自律神経活動に影響を及ぼす可能性のある薬剤を処方されている者。

Twenty-four healthy Japanese adults (12 females, 12 males; average age 34.3 years) who consented to participate in the study were selected. The eligibility criteria for the participants were as follows: (1) adults aged 20 to 50 years, (2) history of previous dental treatment, and (3) no serious medical history. We excluded participants with (1) mental illness, physical disease, or oral disease; (2) dentures; (3) a history of eustachian tube obstruction, nasal obstruction, pneumothorax, or intestinal obstruction; and (4) medication prescriptions that may affect autonomic nerve activity.
