YAHABA studyは、矢巾町在住の高齢者における神経疾患の有病率、危険因子および発症を調査する前向き観察研究である。岩手県矢巾町は東北地方の小さな町で、約8000人の高齢者が暮らす。 YAHABA studyは、矢巾町に住む約1000人の高齢者を登録し、健康関連の様々な指標をスクリーニングし、医療情報を収集した。加齢に伴って増加する神経疾患（アルツハイマー病、パーキンソン病、脳血管障害など）について継続的に調査している。本研究は、これらに関する実際の疫学データを提供し、治療介入法の開発に貢献することを目的とする。

英語
This is a prospective observational study investigating the prevalence rates, risk factors and development on the neurological disorders in community-dwelling older adults. Yahaba is a small town locating in Iwate prefecture of the north-eastern Japan, having around 8,000 older adults. This study registered around 1000 older people living in Yahaba town and screened their health-related various measures and corrected medical information. All participants are continuously investigated in age-related neurological diseases, which include Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, cerebrovascular disease, and so on. This study can supply the real-world epidemiological evidences and can contribute the development of intervention to the neurological diseases.
