This is an epidemiological study of head injury in Japan.

日本語
頭部外傷症例の、年齢・性別・受傷機転・診断・治療方法・患者転帰の疫学的検討を行う。これらの結果を、社会に発信することにより頭部外傷の予防にも役立てる。これまでも、シートベルトやヘルメットの着用による頭部外傷の減少に貢献している。また、治療方法の効果についての検討も行い、その結果は日本脳神経外傷学会から発刊される“重症頭部外傷治療・管理のガイドライン”の改訂時の資料として使用される。

Epidemiological examination of age, sex, mechanism of injury, diagnosis, treatment method, and patient outcome of head injury cases. These results will be useful for the prevention of head injuries by disseminating them to society. So far, it has contributed to the reduction of head injuries caused by wearing seat belts and helmets. We will also examine the effects of treatment methods, and the results will be used as materials for the revision of the "Guidelines for Treatment and Management of Severe Head Injuries" published by the Japan Neurotrauma Society.

主要アウトカム評価項目/Primary outcomes

日本語
頭部外傷症例の年齢・性別・受傷機転・診断名・治療・転帰などの頻度の調査を行う。また、治療内容によって転帰に影響があるのかどうかの検討を行う。

We will investigate the frequency of head injury cases, including age, gender, mechanism of injury, diagnosis name, treatment, and outcome. We will also examine whether the content of treatment has an impact on outcomes.

選択基準/Key inclusion criteria

①来院時Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) 8以下、あるいは経過中にGCS 8以下に悪化した頭部外傷症例。
②脳神経外科手術を施行した頭部外傷症例。

(1) Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) 8 or less at the time of admission, or head injury cases that worsened to GCS 8 or less during the course.
(2) A case of head injury that underwent neurosurgery.

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

①慢性硬膜下血腫
②頭部外傷が明らかな原因でない来院時心肺停止例

英語
(1) Chronic subdural hematoma
(2) Cases of cardiopulmonary arrest on arrival for which head injury was not the obvious cause
