平均年齢は男性が62.8歳、女性が65.0歳だった。HbA1cの平均は男性が7.1%、女性が6.8%だった。2型糖尿病の罹患期間平均は、男性が12.6年、女性が11.2年だった。

There was a significant difference (p<0.001) in age between males (n=528, 62.8 years) and females (n=310, 65.0 years) in this study. Regarding HbA1c levels, there was no significant difference between males (7.1%) and females (6.8%). There was a significant difference (p<0.05) between males (12.6 years) and
females (11.2 years) in T2DM duration.

参加者の流れ/Participant flow

970人の対象者中、107人が参加を拒否した。インタービューを受けた863人のデータにおいて、25人分に欠測があった。最終的838人分が有効解析となった（86.4%）。

Definition of daily hot water bathing at home (HWB):
We defines daily HWB as taking a bath to soak in the bathtub, regardless of whether normal tap water or hot spring water is used.
Primary explanatory variables:
We set frequency and time in daily HWB as explanatory variables along with HbA1c. This information is recorded by the doctors conducting interviews.
Covariates:
The doctors check sex, age, height, weight, BMI, T2DM duration, alcohol consumption status, meal modification status, smoking status, exercise status on the questionnaire sheet. Based on medical record, the doctors transcribe the patient's oral and injection medications into the sheet. In addition, the presence of sick days and dizziness and impaired consciousness associated with hypoglycemia are also examined.
