本研究の目的は高齢者ドライバーにおける自動車運転技能に対する自己評価と慢性的な疼痛部位の存在および運転に対する不安感との関連について実態調査を行うことである。

日本語
高齢者と非高齢者の比較において，身体機能について着目すると，高齢者は「後方を直接確認するときに首が後ろに回りにくい」（高齢者：36%，非高齢者13%）「体が柔軟でないため，車の乗り降りが難しい」（高齢者25%，非高齢者8%）の２項目で有意に該当者が多かった。
「日常生活における車の重要度」においても，非高齢者に比較して，高齢者の方が車を必要としている人が多かった（高齢者96%，非高齢者85%，p<0.05）。 「車の運転に対する恐怖感」は高齢者と非高齢者で差が生じなかった（高齢者52%，非高齢者55%）。

Focusing on physical function, elderly people had a significantly higher proportion of the following questions than non-elderly people: "It is difficult for the neck to go backward when directly checking the back." "It's difficult to get in and out of the car because the body is less flexible." As for the importance of cars in daily life, more elderly people needed cars than non-elderly people.There was no difference in the fear of driving a car between the elderly and non-elderly.
