嚥下機能障害を有さない患者

Patients with no deglutition disorder.

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

1) 股関節の手術歴のある患者
2) 腎機能障害を有し、蛋白制限が必要な
患者
3) OA以外の運動器および神経疾患を有す
る患者
4) THA予定術式が従来法である患者
5) THA実施時に骨きり術を実施した患者
6) THA実施時に筋切離術を実施した患者
7) 認知症を有する患者
8) うつ病および統合失調症を有する患者
9) 脳血管障害の既往のある患者（無症候
性のラクナ梗塞は除く）
10) 未治療の循環器疾患を合併する患者

BCAA supplementation combined with muscle strengthening exercises had a significant effect on knee extension strength of the contralateral side and on upper arm cross-sectional area. The improvement ratio of knee extension strength before and after intervention on the operated side was also significantly higher in the BCAA group.

Demographic data were collected from clinical records and included age, body mass index (BMI), co-morbidity index, diagnosis, surgical procedure, duration of hospital stay, the number of combined therapy sessions, nutritional status, and prescribed analgesic medicines. The antiinflammatory activity of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) has been reported to impair satellite cell activity, which is required for muscle protein synthesis. Evaluations were conducted in the preintervention period and the post-intervention period. Investigators assessed muscle strength, skeletal muscle mass, and the functional independence measure (FIM)
score.
